TRAINING

Our dog training program is designed to help you build a strong relationship with your pup to give them the confidence and skills they need to be their best selves. As an experienced trainer, I offer training for Basic Obedience, Reactivity, Socialization & Neutrality, and Puppy Training.

Our Training Style

Every dog learns differently, and there are multiple ways to achieve the same training goals. Together, we’ll find the most effective approach for your dog that feels comfortable, understandable, and impactful. I use a science-backed, positive-first approach, emphasizing the importance of a personal relationship with both you and your dog.

My aim is to foster behaviors that fit your lifestyle, align with your dog’s personality, and enhance the life you share together.

Benefits of Private, In-Home Dog Training

Convenient and Flexible: I come to you, saving you travel time, and sessions are scheduled at times that work best for your day.

Personalized Attention: During each private session, all focus is on you and your dog. This dedicated attention allows us to tailor training to your dog’s personality and learning style, making the process far more effective than in a group setting.

Faster Results: With a custom approach, training is streamlined, often producing faster and more impactful results.

Familiar Environment: Working in your home minimizes distractions and provides a comfortable space for your dog. This can be essential for dogs who struggle to focus or feel anxious in unfamiliar settings. We want to meet you (and your dog) where you're at, and often, that starts at home!

Problem-Specific Training: Training in your home allows us to address issues where they occur, whether it’s a specific behavior or a challenge with certain routines. We can also address numerous skills you'd like to train.

You may notice some pups wearing E-Collars. I do have experience with these, and believe that there can be value in using them. I will never require you to use any tool with your dog if you are not comfortable with them!

What to Expect

Each session lasts approximately one hour. While I strive to use the full hour, I pay close attention to your dog’s focus, comfort and stress levels. You don't make much progress when a dog isn’t interested, and pushing a dog too far can undo the progress. We will incorporate breaks when needed, allowing your dog to relax and recharge. During these breaks, I’ll provide additional guidance and answer any questions you may have.

For new clients, I recommend starting with three sessions for a strong foundation, but I don’t require a set number. My goal is to equip you with the guidance, skills, and tools for lasting success without tying you to a particular number of sessions or fees.

We start our sessions in your home, where your dog is likely most comfortable and where many behavior issues may originate. Based on your dog’s progress and needs, we may schedule sessions in other locations.

Hoping to provide your dog with more experiences and repetitions of what you're training? I also offer taking your dog for training sessions without needing you present.
